Snacks and Appetizers - Calamari

An easy, tasty appetizer (for those who are into tentacular food, anyway). |
| Ingredients |
- 1/2 lb calamari rings or strips
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 cups cooking oil
- lemon juice

| Directions |
Preheat oil in a frying pan.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl or bag to make flour mixture. Coat the calamari pieces in the flour mixture, and fry, a handful at a time, for about 60 seconds, until they are golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel.
Sprinkle with lemon juice, to taste, and serve with marinara sauce, spicy mayonnaise, sweet or spicy chili sauce, or other sauce of your choice.
